چکیده

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign osteolytic bony lesion that can be locally destructive. It is usually observed in the first and second decades of life. This expansile bone lesion commonly involves the metaphysis of long tubular bones, posterior elements of the vertebrae, and flat bones. The skull base is an uncommon location for this tumor with a reported incidence of 3 to 6%. In the literature, we found only 11 cases of skull base ABC reported till 2010, with only 2 involving the posterior cranial fossa skull base.1

Recurrent Psammomatoid Juvenile Ossifying Fibroma with Aneurysmal Bone Cyst: An Unusual Case Presentation

Juvenile ossifying fibroma (JOF) is a rare, benign, locally aggressive entity of the extragnathic craniofacial bones with a high tendency towards recurrence. Two distinctive microscopic patterns of juvenile ossifying fibroma have been described: a trabecular juvenile ossifying fibroma (TrJOF) and a psammomatoid juvenile ossifying fibroma (PJOF). Psammomatoid variant is predominantly a craniofac...

Aneurysmal Bone Cyst of the Temporal Bone Presenting with Headache and Partial Facial Palsy

We describe the first case of a temporal bone ABC that was thought to be consistent with a meningioma based on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings. Clinical Presentation An otherwise healthy 23-year-old woman presented wit...
